The tournament throughout the years

The Stockholm Open was founded in 1969 on the initiative of former world player Sven Davidson. Since 2023, the tournament has been organized under the name BNP Paribas Nordic Open, thanks to our title partner BNP Paribas. For one week in October, 30,000 visitors visits the Royal Tennis Hall, and the event can be held thanks to over 350 volunteers. The tournament is the world's oldest indoor ATP event and the only one played in an indoor arena built for tennis. World stars such as Björn Borg, John McEnroe, Roger Federer, Boris Becker, Mats Wilander, and Stefan Edberg have all won the tournament.

BNP Paribas Nordic Open is not only of interest to tennis enthusiasts and players; it is a world-class event in many ways. There are excellent opportunities for participating partners to invite customers and prospects through networking and theme days. For families with children and sports-interested young people, there are many fun activities. Everything is framed by a wide range of experiences related to food and drink.

At BNP Paribas Nordic Open in the Royal Tennis Hall, there is something for everyone.

The tournament is owned and operated by three non-profit associations, Salk, Stockholm Tennis Association, and KLTK. Any potential financial surplus from the event goes directly to the youth activities of each association to develop Swedish tennis. So far, over 50 million SEK has been distributed.
