SVT and BNP Paribas Nordic Open have reached a new agreement on the broadcasting of the prestigious tennis tournament, which this year is played from October 12–20 at the Royal Tennis Hall. The renewed cooperation extends over two years and means that SVT again becomes the official broadcast partner for the competition. SVT will cover the world of tennis in Stockholm both in its linear channels and on SVT Play.

- SVT plays a significant role in spreading tennis and is of immense importance for our tournament. Last year's success, with nearly two million viewers, shows the great interest in tennis in the Nordics. We look forward to continuing this momentum and offering a fantastic experience for both the audience at the Royal Tennis Hall and viewers on the couch," says Rasmus Hult, CEO of BNP Paribas Nordic Open.

The tournament was organized for the first time in 1969 at the Royal Tennis Hall. This year's edition is the 55th, making it the oldest indoor competition on the ATP tour. Over the years, a vast majority of the world's number ones in tennis have visited Stockholm, and the list of tournament winners includes John McEnroe, Björn Borg, Mats Wilander, Stefan Edberg, and Roger Federer. SVT broadcasted the premiere edition, and over the years, many of the tournament's classic matches and moments have been followed by the Swedish people through the TV. In 2022, SVT regained the broadcasting rights to BNP Paribas Nordic Open. The new two-year agreement was negotiated by Manfred Aronsson at Spring Media, who also produces the broadcasts.

- The tournament in the Royal Tennis Hall is a Swedish sports classic. The fields in recent years have been of high quality, and it is also an opportunity to see young Swedish talents. We are pleased to have secured broadcasts from the Nordic Open on SVT for the next two years, says SVT's sports director Max Bursell.

Right now, the important work of tying the first major names to this year's competition is underway. Responsible for player recruitment is Thomas Enqvist, Tournament Director and three-time champion of the tournament.

We are incredibly happy and proud to once again be able to offer SVT's viewers world-class tennis. Our cooperation in recent years has worked very well. SVT's unique opportunity to reach so many tennis fans not only strengthens the event and its partners but also Swedish tennis in general, comments Thomas Enqvist.
