Packed semifinal day awaits

It is semifinals day at he BNP Paribas Nordic Open, and expectations are sky high. Gaël Monfils is expected to put on a show, as is the big surprise semifinalist Pavel Kotov, both players facing Serbs in their respective semifinal matches in the in-form Serbs Kecmanovic and dangerous Laslo Djere.

First up on the center court in the singles tournament is the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic, who knocked out the Swedish prospect Elias Ymer in the quarterfinals. He plays the tournament’s biggest surprise, qualifiers Pavel Kotov, who advanced by winning against the tournament's third-seeded player Tallon Griekspoor.

In the second semifinal at 18:00 on Centre Court, the crowd favourite and former 2011 tournament winner Gaël Monfils plays against world number 35 Laslo Djere. The Frenchman Monfils impressed in his quarterfinal against his countrymen Adrian Mannarino, something Laslo Djere also did when he turned the match around in almost 3-hours as he won against the tough Czech Tomas Machac during Friday night's final match.

In the double’s tournament, Golubev/Molchanov play Galloway/Olivetti in the first semifinal, followed by Griekspoor/Stevens and Bhambri/Cash slated as the last match on the day on Center Court at The Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm.
