Last year’s champion Casper Ruud returns to the Bybit Stockholm Open. The Norwegian star is confirmed for this year’s tournament, which will be played from 7–14 November at the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm.
Casper Ruud won last year’s edition after defeating Frenchman Ugo Humbert in straight sets in the final. In November, he returns to Stockholm with the aim of defending his title once again.
“Stockholm is a special place for me. Winning here last year was one of the highlights of the year, and now I want to do it again. I’m coming to defend my title,” says Casper Ruud.
For the Swedish crowd, Ruud’s return means that one of the tour’s most accomplished and exciting players is back at a tournament with a strong historical standing. With around 30,000 visitors each year, the Bybit Stockholm Open remains one of Sweden’s largest recurring international sporting events.
“It is a great honour to welcome Casper back to Stockholm. He is not only one of the best players in the world, but also one of the most appreciated personalities on the tour. Having the reigning champion return adds extra weight to this year’s tournament,” says Thomas Enqvist, Tournament Director of the Bybit Stockholm Open.
