Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is heading to Bybit Stockholm Open in the form of his life. On Sunday, the Spaniard claimed the biggest title of his career by winning the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Shanghai. The victory sees him climb to world No. 13 – and in just a few weeks, he will take to the court at the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm.

The 27-year-old Spaniard delivered an impressive performance in Shanghai. After defeating world No. 2 Alexander Zverev in the semi-finals, he faced fellow Spaniard Rafael Jódar in the final. Despite a difficult start, Davidovich Fokina fought back to secure a 1–6, 7–6(5), 6–4 victory, claiming his first Masters 1000 title and the biggest triumph of his career.

The victory is further proof of the Spaniard's outstanding form. As recently as September, he won the ATP tournament in Chengdu and has now claimed two titles in his last three tournaments. Known for his explosive playing style, incredible speed and ability to produce spectacular rallies, Davidovich Fokina is a player who knows how to entertain a crowd.

Davidovich Fokina also has a special connection to Sweden. Although born and raised in Málaga, Spain, he has Swedish ties through his father, who holds a Swedish citizenship. His upcoming appearance at the Royal Tennis Hall therefore brings an additional Swedish connection to the newly crowned Shanghai champion.

Swedish tennis fans will soon have the opportunity to watch the Shanghai champion up close. Davidovich Fokina is already confirmed for Bybit Stockholm Open, joining a star-studded line-up featuring Casper Ruud, Holger Rune, Alexander Bublik, Matteo Berrettini and Taylor Fritz.

With less than three weeks remaining until the tournament begins, excitement continues to build. Interest in this year's edition is high, and tickets for the popular evening sessions are selling fast.
